DC captain, Axar Patel won the toss and put in LSG to bat first. Markram 52 (33 balls) and Mitchell Marsh 45 (36 balls) gave LSG a strong start, with a 87-run partnership. Markram’s departure triggered a collapse, with Nicholas Pooran, Abdul Samad and Marsh perishing in the
span of just 3 overs. Pooran fell to Mitchell Starc and DC star bowler, Mukesh Kumar, worked his magic to send back Samad and Marsh in the same over. In a pursuit of 160 runs saw the batters, Abishek Porel 51 (36) and KL Rahul 57* (42 balls) both hit half centuries for DC. They set a strong foundation with a 69-run partnership. Axar Patel 34 (20 balls) played a crucial role in guiding the team to a eight wicket win over the LSG.
